#1 – Decorative Pumpkins

Many many look small and round, but they’re not toys! (Carson, that’s a NO touch.) Between the stem, the rind, the seeds, decorations like pain and googly eyes, even the staleness–there’s lots of things about raw decorative pumpkins that can hurt your pups. So be wise with their placement if your dog is a curious chewer of all things new. Put pumpkins up high on shelves, tables, counters, or outside where your dog doesn’t roam unsupervised. Just in case.

#2 – Canned Pumpkin

Canned pumpkin can come in a variety of types and quality, but remember–not all human food is okay for dogs. So find the cans that say no added sugar, salt, or spices added. Just pumpkin. We do the same for peanut butter. No salt, sugar or honey, oils or preservatives, and especially no artificial sweeteners. Those aren’t good for anyone, but a dog’s system especially cannot tolerate those things like ours can.
